Creative Ways Restaurants Can Use Mobile POS Systems

If you own a restaurant, the only place to sell food is in your restaurant right? Wrong! You can be creative and take your food to the masses.

Here are some creative ways to use a mobile point-of-sale (POS) system that will help increase your restaurant’s exposure and sales.

Outside Stadiums Before, After, or During a Sporting Event or Concert

Why stadiums? Let’s look at some tailgating statistics. Quicken Loans Racing and Beckon Media compiled research and compared the traits of NASCAR and NFL tailgaters. They found that 80% of the U.S. population (240 million people) tailgate at least once a year spending more than 35 billion dollars. That’s a lot of people is one space who are looking to eat and get pumped up before the sporting event.

Set up a temporary booth outside the stadium and use your mobile POS system to ring up your signature dish or special tailgating menu items. While many folks bring their own food to tailgate at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, some come just to hang out and play Corn hole. They’ll be hungry. Be ready to feed them!

Festivals or Fairs

A great way to get more exposure is to frequent festivals and fairs with your food. Again, set up a temporary booth and use your POS system to not only ring up food, but also collect data.

You can always give an incentive to receive an email. Then follow up with your customer with a coupon to visit your brick and mortar restaurant, or perhaps announce your next fair or festival location.  Then continue to connect with your customer through various promotional emails.

Food Trucks

The food truck trend is continuing to grow. Established restaurants, especially fast casual operations, are showing interest in food trucks. In fact, 19 percent of fast casual restaurants say they are very or somewhat likely to launch one in the next year or two, according to National Restaurant Association research.

Again, it’s a great way for you to utilize your mobile POS system. Just move from location to location to ring sales, collect data, and keep track of inventory in both your brick and mortar restaurant and mobile one too.

As you can see, you don’t have to spend all your time trying to figure out how to get people to come to your restaurant. You can go to them with great food and smart business moves while you utilize the power of your mobile POS system. Then you can watch your restaurant’s exposure and sales soar!
